The Archaeological Museum of Mahasthangar

The Archaeological Museum

The Mahasthangar, like any other historical site, has a museum where ancient objects discovered during excavations are displayed. The museum is located directly opposite the Govinda Vita. The entrance charge for guests is BDT 20 per person.

Some of the museum's major exhibits, such as a life-size Buddha sculpture, door frames from historic buildings, Shivlings, and so on, are shown outside the main structure. Surprisingly, no security procedures exist for these artifacts. Anyone can touch them and potentially harm them.

There is no limitation on photographing objects outside the museum building, therefore here are some of the images of the museum grounds -

The museum is not particularly huge, but it is adequate for displaying all of the objects discovered in Mahasthangar and other surrounding historic sites. The collection includes coins, ceramics, tools, utensils, earthen and stone carved sculptures, and highly significant inscriptions dating from the 3rd century BCE to the 18th century.

The museum is air-conditioned. So it was a lovely 30 minutes for us, particularly on such a hot day. We took our time and examined each artifact one by one.

Taking photographs or recordings inside the museum is strictly prohibited. I've seen guards misbehave with tourists simply to get their phones out of their pockets. Despite forbidding them, many took their phones out and tried to take pictures of the collections secretly.

Govinda Vita

The place I will tell you about today is in the Bogra district of Bangladesh. The name of this place is Govinda Vita. This Govinda Vita T was found through excavations. The idea is that many years ago it was a temple. During excavations, idols of various Hindu communities were found here. The temple is believed to be hundreds of years old. After a long time, it is covered with earth. And it becomes like the mountain. This Govinda Virati was later discovered by the Archaeological Superintendence. Next to it is the historic Mahasthangarh. In Mahasthangarh there is Prasad of Raja Parashuram. Next to it is this Govinda Vita. This temple of Govinda Vita was used for works outside the palace of King Parshuram. Here all the people, including the king, prayed in the temple. Now it is a point of reference. Many domestic and foreign tourists visit this attraction. Many old-fashioned things can be seen here. It's very nice to see that. The environment here is very beautiful.

This is a view from above Govinda Vita. It is thought that there were numerous temples here. The temples have been separated by walls.

There are several old walls in the green grass. It looks extremely beautiful. After a long time, green grass emerged. This photograph of nature is stunning to look at.

The walls are extremely high, and visitors walk up to them. They snap photos. They express their pleasure on the Govinda Vita wall. From here, they try to see the beautiful natural surroundings.

Many old anecdotes of Govinda Vita are shared in public. An examination of the entire old ruin showed the presence of a temple. Previously, numerous people had gathered here. Because that is the king's realm. So, everyone in the kingdom used to worship here.

In addition to the antiques, a beautiful garden has been established. The garden now has a variety of floral plants as well as fruit trees. These are quite appealing to look at. This garden highlights nature's splendor. The splendor of the garden draws visitors. Many visitors meander around the garden, taking photographs. Actually, everyone's mind is joyful here. There's so much to see here.

In the picture, you can see Govinda Vita Guest House. Here visitors come and rest. The government has kept this guest house open for visitors.

Some beauty-enhancing sheds made of wood at the entrance of the guest house. It's nice to see the sheds.
